PROJECT SUMMARY
We were engaged by Kier to undertake extensive external and internal packages in the new £65M Currie Community Campus to form Scotland’s first Passivhaus School containing a swimming pool.
The new learning campus has been built to Passivhaus standard, minimising energy consumption and reducing the reliance on active heating or cooling systems, ensuring sustainable and eco-friendly construction. The requirement for this specifically impacted our SFS package where great care was taken over detailing. Once complete we assisted Kier with on site air test to assist them establish leakages and resolve so the school could not only achieve but surpass the Passivhaus level set out in the brief.
As part of our works, we attended regular design workshops with the Architect to assist with developing and co-ordinating the common design to assist with the multiple packages awarded. This was best showcased on the ceilings where we proposed changes to certain ceilings to assist with budget and to assist with future accessibility issues for the end user.
The school was handed over on programme, where we assisted our key client in any areas that we could with the quality of the installation appreciated by all.
